In early trading, 70 of 82 shares rose, while 8 fell; all sectors were higher, led by commerce and industry stocks.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.5% higher at 2,954.87 in Shanghai.
PetroChina Co. contributed the most to the index gain, increasing 1.0%. Kunshan Dongwei Technology Co. had the largest increase, rising 10.7%.
In early trading, 1,953 of 2,192 shares rose, while 198 fell; 3 of 5 sectors were higher, led by industrial stocks.
