The Hang Seng Index opened 0.8% lower, dropping 143.63 to 17,167.42, as stocks lose for the third straight day in Hong Kong.
Meituan contributed the most to the index decline and had the largest move, decreasing 3.6%.
In early trading, 64 of 82 shares fell, while 12 rose; 2 of 4 sectors were lower, led by commerce and industry stocks.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.2% lower, dropping 6.87 to 2,895.08, as stocks lose for the fourth straight day in Shanghai. PetroChina Co. contributed the most to the index decline, decreasing 2.4%. Shanghai Kai Kai Industrial Co. had the largest drop, falling 8.7%.
