Tokyo stocks opened higher Monday following gains of US tech shares last week in thin holiday trade.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index added 0.61 percent, or 200.89 points, to 33,369.94 in early trade, while the broader Topix index added 0.60 percent, or 14.04 points, to 2,350.47.
