Hong Kong stocks opened on the front foot Tuesday morning, with investors brushing off losses on Wall Street as they prepare for a series of key US data this week.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.45 percent, or 74.86 points, to 16,548.50.
The Shanghai Composite Index was flat, inching up 0.62 points to 3,026.92, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange slipped 0.17 percent, or 2.99 points, to 1,746.17.
