The Hang Seng Index opened 0.4% higher at 20,468.09 in Hong Kong.
Xiaomi Corp. contributed the most to the index gain, increasing 3.3%. China Mengniu Dairy Co. had the largest increase, rising 3.9%.
In early trading, 36 of 82 shares rose, while 40 fell; 3 of 4 sectors were higher, led by finance stocks.
