The Hang Seng Index opened 0.4% lower, dropping 65.29 to 17,048.07, as stocks lose for the second straight day in Hong Kong.
Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. contributed the most to the index decline, decreasing 1.9%. Li Ning Co. had the largest drop, falling 5.3%.
In early trading, 57 of 82 shares fell, while 24 rose; 3 of 4 sectors were lower, led by commerce and industry stocks.
The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.2% higher at 2,857.54 in Shanghai.
China Shenhua Energy Co. contributed the most to the index gain, increasing 2.0%. Tibet Tianlu Co. had the largest increase, rising 10.1%.
In early trading, 526 of 2,218 shares rose, while 1,559 fell; all sectors were higher, led by conglomerate stocks.
